I love my family, my cat, liftin that iron and ....TACOS!!
And I'm a coach at my very core. It’s funny, when I think back to the “what do you want to be when you grow up?” question we all face in our youth. The answer was ALWAYS a coach. See..I was an athlete, in a family of athletes. My dad was a coach. It was what we did. And I loved it.
So, it was a natural assumption that I’d be a coach when I grew up. I just knew I would play ball in college and then be a coach. Until...I was a graduating high school with a new born baby girl in my young arms. A lot changed.
What didn’t change was my passion for being an athlete. A “warrior”. Mostly being a warrior meant long days at work and trying to take care of a child, while still growing up myself. Trying to be a mom, work, and find time to still take care of myself. But fitness has always found a way into my life. Or really, I made it find a way. Not always perfect. But always present. The idea of being a coach really did manifest itself...just not in the form I thought. It came in the form of being a personal trainer. It came in the form of managing teams of trainers. It came in the form of being a partner in a national PT company and managing both business, people and the service of fitness all across the country!
And despite different roles, the common thread has ALWAYS been that I LOVE being a coach. You know that moment....the one just on the other side of something that makes you uncomfortable? The box jump that you’re afraid to try? The pushup you think you can’t do?? You know...that moment. The one AFTER YOU DO IT. I LOVE THAT MOMENT! I LOVE THAT SHIT!
It lights me up to get to share a moment like that with another human being. It’s the best ever. Really. Can’t get enough.
So, after over 2 decades of working in big box gyms, training staffs of people, traveling the country...I decided to go out on my own. Ditch the "safety" of a big company and super cushy income and just walk away. Start from scratch. SCAAAAAARRRYYY!!! But it's one of the best decisions I've ever made and would never go back. (Yes, I made it to the other side of the scary thing! :) )
See, I love my family. More than anything. And I had already sacrificed too much time with them. I missed out on sooooo much! I want to be around with them. I have 4 grand kids and they are freaking amazing little minions! Time with them....it’s even better than coaching.
And in all the years of being in the fitness industry, the same issue still comes up for women who want to lead a healthier life. It all boils down to 2 things really. They don’t know how to make fitness a lifestyle. Because, they too love their families! They give so much. They work so hard. And they struggle to find, or feel guilty for taking time for themselves. It’s a big one.
And secondly, they still don’t know HOW to get what they want. Still working that ol’ calories in vs calories out BS. Because they don’t know any better! Ladies....it doesn’t work! But there is a better way. A way that works. And is sustainable. And helps you not only see results, but helps you feel good about yourself in the process. And yes, it IS a process.
So my mission....To reach and coach as many women as I can. To teach, coach and support them in a way that works for them. To help them learn to make fitness a lifestlyle, without feeling like they’ve abandon their family and work obligations. To teach things THAT WORK! To help empower women. To help them feel confident throwin some iron around on the reg. And to help them learn, how to also help support other women.
Learning to lift (how to videos), progressive workouts, mobility practices, nutrition talk, and fun events done in a community of like minded women. My goal is to help you live a healthy, fit and EXPANSIVE life!
