One of the biggest mistakes I see women making when it comes to fitness, is creating a HUUUGE pendulum swing from being inactive to crazy hard workouts and strict dieting. All or nothing. They go from couch potato to intense workouts and calorie deprivation...to then burnout, not being able to keep up this new lifestyle, not seeing results, feeling deflated.....aaaaaand back to couch potato. Sound familiar?
Look, there IS some middle ground here. The goal is to create some balance using things that are effective, yet sustainable. Being fit doesn't have to turn your life upside down. A fitness lifestyle is not about getting it all right, all the time. It's not over obsessing about the numbers on a scale, the perfect workout or eating perfectly (and generally feeling deprived) . Who has time or mental energy for that? It is about consistency over the long haul. I help you focus on the big "dial movers" that yield the greatest results so you can focus on living your own version of an amazing life.
My mission is to educate, empower and connect women. To create a community of strong, passionate women who love growth and supporting other women. A fitness lifestyle for me is about how it makes you FEEL! Yes, esthetic goals are cool too, but certainly not something that ADDS stress to your life. Fitness should make you FEEL great! Strong! Energetic! Empowered!! And LOVING a body that allows you to do such amazing things!
My programs are based on strength training for sure. The physical benefits are far too many to list. The emotional benefits are what I think most find surprising. There is just something very empowering about lifting weights and it absolutely transforms to every other area in life.
That being said, there is not just 1 way to workout. So I encompass several modalities to give you a very balanced program. One that is simple and convenient. I don't believe in long workouts. Cardio is typically incorporated INTO your weight training, creating much shorter and more effective workouts. Get in, get it done, and move on! I also believe very strongly in establishing a good foundation before moving on to more advanced programs. My goal is to progress you naturally as you are ready and keep you injury free.
And I KNOW that you have to enjoy it. In some regard. Maybe not everyday. We all have days where working out is a drag. Me too! Buuuuut, your success dramatically increases if you have a community to support you, you're seeing results, and you experience some enjoyment in what your doing. So I work at keeping you mentally stimulated as well!
And lastly, most of my clients are beginners to intermediate exercisers. They aren't world class athletes, or physique competitors. Most of them come to me struggling to be consistent, overwhelmed and more than a little intimidated to start a workout program. They are more than likely, just like you!
